Santa

We took the boys to see Santa last weekend. Grant did wonderfully. Last year he wouldn't sit with Santa or talk to him, this year he did both. It is amazing how much Logan has helped Grant become so grown up. After the picture, Grant told Santa what he wants and he even high fived him!!!! It was wonderful. The highlight of my day!

Grant's Kindergarten Christmas Program

This is just a little bit of the program. I hope you enjoy it. I recorded on our digital camera so the quality isn't all that great.

Just a few things to share....

This is the Christmas Tree that Grant had to decorate for school. He had fun doing it. Daniel and I helped but we were supposed to.

Here is Logan sleeping in his crib. I thought it was cute because he little ankles are crossed. He is doing really well sleeping in his crib. He goes down around 9pm and gets up around 5 or 6 am. He also takes like three naps still during the day. It is great. He can go to sleep on his own now, I used to have to rock him asleep but not anymore. I have also gotten him to stop waking up for his middle of the night bottle.I am really proud of myself.
I hope everyone is doing well!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Our Thanksgiving was wonderful. My mom and stepdad came down and Daniel's parents came for the day. Grant and Logan loved having them here. We forgot to take pictures. I feel bad about it, but oh well. The picture above is Grant at a Christmas Tree Farm with Kelly and Paul. I wish he would take pictures like that for me. It's not fair. He had a ball with them. While he was with them Daniel and I went Christmas shopping. Just a few more things and it will be a perfect Christmas. An update on Logan for everyone, He is 20.5 lbs and 27.5 inches long. When you take your baby on a well check they let you know how he ranks in his weight and height, well, Logan is off the charts! Grant was always in the 95th percentile, but not Logan, when the doctor showed me his chart, they circled his weight and height up above all the lines. There was no place to circle. I couldn't believe it.

The Weekend......

There is Matt and Sarah with Logan. It was really good to see them. It was like they never left. I think they are coming back for Christmas, so it won't be too long before thier next visit.

Just a quick update.....

Things are going well in the Beasley house. Tomorrow Sarah and Matt come for a visit. We are very excited about that. Grant gets a free meal at Chickfila because he was respectful to his teachers and his classmates. He came home with the special coupon today, so he wants to get it because he doesn't like what we are having at church tonight. In two weeks my Mom and Ernie will be here for Thanksgiving. I also learned today that Grant's very first Basketball practice is Nov. 20Th. That is the day Mom and Ernie are coming so they get to see Grant in action. He is very excited about it. Logan is doing well. He is changing so much everyday. I just can't believe how fast it is going. With Grant, time went by slowly, but then again I wasn't as busy then as I am now. Well, I think that is all for now. I just felt like writing. I hope you all have a good rest of the week!! I am sure I will update again after this weekend. I hope to have pictures of Sarah and Matt.

Some fun in the tub.....

What a cutie!!! He loves the bath tub! He is learning how to splash in the water too. Logan is changing so much so fast. He can sit up by himself and he mimics us now too. He says dada and mama every now and then. Such a big boy!!!!

Not the best picture because they were moving, but that is Grant recieving his trophy from his coach. Grant had a blast with soccer. In a few weeks he starts basketball practice. He is looking forward to that too.
Life is good for the Beasley family. We are looking forward to seeing Sarah and Matt this weekend. And we have started our christmas shopping. My mom and stepdad will be down in two weeks for thanksgiving. That should be fun. I haven't had Thanksgiving at my house yet. This is a first for me but I am so glad my mom will be here to cook :). Hope eveyone is doing well!

CANDY! CANDY! CANDY!

There are my wonderful boys!!!!!! How cute are they? If you can't tell Grant is a Transformer and Logan is Squirt from Finding Nemo. Grant had a blas trick-or-treating. He even got candy in Logan's pumpkin. We went with one of Grant's friends from school who lives in the neighborhood next to us. It was alot of fun. Grant went up to the doors without us this year. We could hear him say Trick or Treat! It was great. Logan was good too as usual.
Now I am going to show you a video of Grant's last soccer practice. His last game will be this saturday. But He will be starting Basketball soon. He is very excited about this.

Grant's First Field Trip

Well, I was wrong, I got to go on the field trip. It was really nice. We walked from the school to the post office. And all the kids mailed thier parents a letter. I will let you all know what the letter says when I get it. Grant had alot of fun today. They had lunch at Jersey Mike's and Grant ate a ham and cheese sub for the first time. Then on the walk back his friends and him sang songs they had learned in school. It was really cute. I tried to video it but it didn't turn out so well. Next thursday they go to the fire station and to the mexican resturant. That should be fun too.

October Already......

I can not believe it is October already. This year has been going by like crazy. Logan was born in May. Grant started Kindergarten. Christmas is only 3 months away. My Dad will be here in three weeks. My mom visits in November. There just isn't enough time anymore. It goes by so quickly.

Anyway, this week is busy. Last night we had soccer practice. Tonight we are going to Chickfila for spirit night for Grant's school. Tomorrow we have church. Thursday Grant has his first field trip, WITHOUT ME, I am so sad about that. They are walking to the post office and then having lunch at Jersey Mike's. He is very excited about it. Friday...hmm.. I am not sure but I think Friday is free. Saturday I have to get up at 6am to get myself and the kids ready for the Soccer game at 8:30am. It should be illegal to get up that early on a Saturday. I am sure I will have video of it though, so look for that.

Okay, I think I have ranted enough, I hope everyone has a great week!

The Weekend

This weekend was busy. It started on Friday when I got to go to Grant's school and see him recite a poem by Mother Goose. Here is the video. Grant talks quietly and of course Logan started talking during it.

Isn't that cute!
On Saturday, Our day started with Grant's second soccer game. They won 4-3. It was a really good game. Before every game they say a prayer. Here is a picture of that.

We thought that was really wonderful. They were holding hands in the circle but I was a little late in getting the camera out. Grant played really well. Here is a video of him running after the ball and towards the end he almost made a goal but a child on the opposing team kicked it away from him.

Didn't he do really well? We were proud of him. The other people you hear on the video are Paul and Kelly. It was a really good game. Then after the game we went to Hartsville to see Daniel's parents. Thier church was haing a block party and was giving away door prizes. Daniel won a twenty dollar gift certificate to Tony's in Hartsville. So of course we went there for dinner. And we saw this really cool sign.

We are thinking of blowing this one up and putting it in his room! Anyway that was our weekend I know it is alot but It is all important. Hope you all had a good weekend.

Nicholas Sparks

Last night Kelly and I went up to Charlotte to get Nicholas Sparks to sign his new book. I got a copy for Carrie, my sister-in-law. She loves his books. It was fun. The signing started at 7pm. We got in line about then and stayed in line for about 2 hours. He was really nice though. We also met this nice lady behind us in line. I took her picture with Nicholas Sparks and emailed it to her. Her name was Emily Dickenson! How cute is that! Grant and Logan behaved so well. I was really proud of Grant because he does not like to stand in line at all. What 5 year old does? But he was really good, he and Kelly looked at a Highlights magazine while I carried Logan around because he got sick of the stroller after about an hour or so.

Here are a couple of firsts!

The video above is of Grant running after the ball. It is the close up video of Grant. He had so much fun playing saturday. Paul came to see him. Daniel's parents almost made it, but they had some car trouble. The final score was 3-3. Not made for the first game.

He is the one in white shorts. The black ones are too big for him. We will probably go buy some black shorts that fit him so he matches the other team members. They have seven more games so be prepared for many more videos!

Here is another first that happened that same day, but for Logan. His very first belly laugh.

Isn't that the best sound you have ever heard? I couldn't even believe it. I got him to do it for me yesterday. I love it!

And just so you know, the reason I threaten to hurt someone on the video is because my father-in-law was trying to get Logan to blow a rasberry. My nephew does it and will not stop. I really don't want Logan to do it at all. My father-in-law thinks its funny. I forgot I was recording when I said it.

My Boys

I know the photo says August, but it's not. I keep forgetting to change the date in my camera. Anyway, this was yesterday. Logan is now big enough to get in the walker. He really enjoyed it. He hasn't figured out he can make it move, but I am not in a rush for him to figure it out just yet. He is getting so big so quickly. He also figured out how to blow rasberries at you. He was doing it in the car to get Grant's attention. We are trying not to laugh at him when he does it so maybe he won't do it too much. That's not something we want to encourage, our nephew Braxton does it all the time and Carrie is having a hard time getting him to stop. So we are trying not to get it started. Even though it is really funny.
Grant had his first homework assignment last night. He had to color a picture of some grapes and write his first and last name on it. He did really well. He stayed in the lines for the most part and that is the hardest part of coloring. He also colored the grapes different colors. Today the principal of his school is going to pick the best one. At least I think he is doing it today, that is what Grant said anyway. He is really enjoying school. He loves his teachers. This morning on the way to school, he was telling me about his music teacher and his P.E. teachers. He is really enjoying both of those classes.
Grant is very excited about his first soccer game tomorrow. It is at 8:30 in the MORNING!!!!! I can't believe I have to get up so early. It is crazy! And don't worry I will be posting pictures!
Have a good weekend everyone!

People

I was just reading someone's blog about their baby. And they talked about something that has been bothering me too. Logan has a red mark on the back of his head about the size of a quarter or bigger. I think it is a birthmark of some kind. But people are so rude. They see the mark and ask, "What is that?". Like it is some gross defect or something. And of course I have to try and explain it. Logan also has a red mark on his neck at his hairline. That is called a stork bite and will eventually goes away.

The blog I was reading also talked about strangers touching the baby. I have never understood this. When this happens I usually just smile politely and walk away quickly. This one time at Toys'r'us, this lady came over to me and said that she like the feel of a baby's head and then asked if she could touch Logan's head. At first I was shocked, and then I just said no. And she just gave me this mean look and walked away. All I could think was, Woman, this is my baby and no one is touching him. When I told Daniel about it, he couldn't believe it. I just don't understand people sometimes.

When Grant was a baby, We were at Walmart, and this lady came near the buggy and was just staring at him, and then looks at me and says in a really creepy voice, "I just love babies". Daniel and I didn't like that at all, we walked away from her as fast as possible.

Whitewater Rafting

Daniel went whitewater rafting this past weekend with Kelly and Paul and some friends from church. He had a blast! It was really cool to watch. I think everyone had a good time. There are more pictures in my pictures.

The Beach

This past weekend we went to the beach to see my mom and Ernie. We had a blast. It was great to see them. The picture above is the turtle family that lives in the pond behind mom's condo at the beach. We got down there saturday afternoon and the first thing we did was go to Ripley's Aquarium. It was Teacher Appreciation Day there, so Daniel got everyone in for free.

On Sunday we went back to Broadway at the beach and did some shopping. That evening Grant wanted to go play putt-putt. So we went to Jurassic Golf. That is Grant's favorite course at the beach.

They had two holes that were crazy. The first one seemed like it wasn't finished because it was open behind the hole to where the ball could fall in the water.

Then the other hole was this little bridge over the water with nothing to stop the ball from falling into the water and being taken away. We had to let Grant hit his ball from the other side of the bridge.

Grant also made two hole-in-ones! We took this picture after the first one. He was so happy because Daniel and I didn't make any hole-in-ones. Daniel won the game though.

We had alot of fun at the beach. Mom and Ernie are coming for Thanksgivng! I am so excited. I have not had Thanksgiving at my house yet. We always have to go to one side of the family or another. It should be interesting.

The Weekend

This weekend was great. We relaxed around the house. I got the nursery cleaned up so I can start getting Logan to sleep in his crib. He has been sleeping in his swing since he came home from the hospital and I think he is getting tired of it. So it is time to go through the transition from swing to crib. Let's hope it is as easy as it was with Grant. Grant had another soccer practice last night. He did really well. He is really enjoying soccer. He was excited to go back to school today. We are so happy that he is enjoying school. He has made three friends so far. We are very proud of him.

Logan

Logan rolled over on his side for the first time today!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at that cutie! He is getting bigger and bigger. And as you can see, he likes to chew on his hand, whether or not he is hungry.

Such a big boy....

This morning I dropped Grant at the door and he walked himself into his class room. Oh, man, I think that was harder than walking him in the first day. I just can't believe he is in kindergarten.

Life is busy......

Life is getting busy for the Beasley Family, especially Daniel. He has picked up another class, so he is teaching 4 classes now with no break during the day. Soccer practice is going to be every monday and soon saturday games start. Grant hasn't brought home work yet, but I am sure he will soon. He really is enjoying school. Life for Logan is easy going. He is just along for the ride right now. He is getting so big so fast. Today he actually stood up on my lap just holding onto my fingers, all by himself. Here is a pic of him after a bath. He is so sweet. I will update again soon.

Grant's First Soccer Practice

Grant had a busy day today. Ofcourse he had school, which he had a lot of fun there. He has made another friend. The boy's name is Trace. Grant seems to really like him. I hope he is a good boy too. Its harder to get to know the parents and the kids now because you only really see the parents at meetings and stuff like that. After dinner tonight Grant had his very first soccer practice. He loved it. At first he was nervous because he didn't know anyone on his team. He got over that very quickly. Practice lasted about an hour. He did really good. They practiced kicking the ball past a goalie and Grant got it past them almost every time. Then he got to be goalie and he did an awesome job blocking the ball, I think only 3 got past him out of the 10 or so that got kicked at him. We were very proud of him.

Grant's First Day Cont.

Sorry I didn't post last night. I couldn't get on the internet. Anyway. Grant had a great first day. He made a new friend named Max. He went to music class and they showed him the computer room and the art room. He loved playing out side. They have bikes for the kids to ride. And he said he walked across the wiggley bridge, which he thought was cool. He loved building with the big wooden blocks. He did say that he didn't have enough time to eat as much as he wanted, but we all know Grant is slow eater when he is distracted.

Today when I took him into class, He did great. He went right to the big wooden blocks and started playing. He then gave me a hug and kiss and I left. I was soo proud of him today for being a good boy about it. I think yesterday he was nervous.

Well, I will keep updating on Grant in school. Monday is his first soccer practice. He is excited about that because he will get to see his best friend from Oakland Day.

Kindergarten Nerves

Grant is so excited about tomorrow, I on the other hand am nervous. I know I shouldn't be, but I am. My stomach is in knots. You would think that I was the one going to school. I always felt like this before the first day of school. I am glad Grant doesn't. I will write tomorrow on how his day goes.

Grant and Logan

Today we met Grant's kindergarten teacher. She was very nice. He is sooo excited about starting school. Daniel and I think he is going to do great. Also, we heard from his soccer coach today. His very first practice will be this coming Monday. Logan is doing well. Getting bigger and bigger everyday. I realized today that he is as big as Grant was at 6 months. I can't even believe it. He is soo alert and happy. He smiles and talks all the time. Well I will update soon. Talk to you all later

My First Blog!!!

Hey Everyone! This is my very first blog. I really enjoy reading Kelly and Sarah's so I decided to write my own. Hope you all enjoy.
